VATICAN GARDENS

The Vatican Gardens have been a place of quiet and meditation for the popes since 1279 when Nicholas III moved his residence back to the Vatican from the Lateran Palace. They are spread over nearly 23 hectares and there are a variety of fountains cooling the gardens, sculptures and monuments set among vibrant flower beds, green lawns and forest.
In 2011 I was the first woman to be commissioned with a photographic report in order to realize the book Le cento Fontane (99+1) del Vaticano (The one hundred Fountains (99+1) of the Vatican State) published by the Vatican City State and presented in a private ceremony in the Vatican Museums.
